Frida’s black hummingbird was still flying around our Show-room when we celebrated our first anniversary. So, in the already evocative context of the Lucienne Bloch: inside the life of Frida Kahlo exhibition, we thought our birthday should have been the occasion for a special present.
Here is how we came up with the idea of a charity auction: we chose to do it for the Fundacion Clara Moreno y Miramon which protects Mexican children who are facing difficult conditions. For the occasion, the Bosa company, a leader in ceramic production since 1976, has been our special partner. It produced the limited edition called “Sister”: an aggregate of ten numbered vases made for the exhibition which was taking place in our Show-room.
The main piece of this vases collection was Sister Frida, designed by Pepa Reverter. This unique sample was embellished by a specific detail painted by hand l a black hummingbird flying right on the neck of the white ceramic vase.
That night art invited itself to the auction in all its forms. Through Frida photographs your eyes were embracing pure charm; the voice of Katia Ricciarelli delighted your ears and your heart; the words of the exhibition curator educated your thoughts and the acting performance fascinated all of your senses.
A present for our first anniversary that we wanted to share and make unforgettable while contributing to a good cause.
