A Roman benchmark in the fields of design, renovation, and interior design, Thesign represents an exclusive vision for lovers of beauty and for those who wish to inhabit spaces that are both elegant and emotionally engaging. Located in the central Ludovisi district, Thesign Progettazione d’Interni Srl, founded in 2005 by Stefano Liardo and Salvo Nicosia, offers its discerning clientele a dual function: alongside the interior design studio, six years ago Thesign Gallery Srl was added, a showroom dedicated to the public sale of a wide selection of top-level Made in Italy brands and a carefully curated international range of furnishings.
Entering Thesign, one immediately senses a welcoming, positive, and warm atmosphere, yet outlined by an essential style—a minimalism achieved through the subtraction of elements which, rather than presenting a mere aesthetic portrait of our contemporary world, seems to anticipate trends of a near future that few can even imagine.

Thesign’s clientele is the kind of person in search of uniqueness, expecting sophistication that is never snobbish, expressing themselves through impactful choices that are nonetheless never excessive. The perfect balance in the aesthetic philosophy created by Liardo and Nicosia has taken root harmoniously in the local area but is also well known to many admirers across Italy.
The “living room” of Thesign Gallery is a place where detail reigns supreme, and even the artworks on the walls shed any temptation of mere decoration, becoming complementary elements to the furnishings. While an expert eye can trace a stylistic thread through the many projects carried out by the Studio over the years, Thesign’s expertise is focused on diligently interpreting the personality and tastes of its clients.
“The mission is to turn the aesthetic desires of those who will inhabit the space entrusted to us into reality,” explains Liardo. “For us, a home is where life resides, a place where nothing should be left to chance. Our strategy is therefore to adapt to virtually any style, sifting out the superfluous and redundant, and delivering the initial vision through a purity of forms that transcends any passing trend.”
It is therefore no surprise that Thesign has seen growth in both visibility and clientele in recent years. “It’s interesting to grow and evolve alongside the evolution of our audience,” emphasizes Nicosia. “Today, for example, the needs and aspirations of each of us have changed compared to three years ago. Last year, following the experience of lockdown and social distancing, we witnessed a clear increase in dedication to one’s own home, particularly in the living areas: never before has the home so strongly reasserted itself as a space for social gathering. The same applies to outdoor areas, an additional challenge we have embraced by acquiring new skills to meet the demands of those who seek elegance for their terraces and green spaces.”
When asked about the strategies for the near future of their two companies, Liardo and Nicosia have no doubts and respond firmly:
“Our intention is to expand the scope of our activities, gradually moving toward a thoughtful internationalization in the coming years.”
“But there’s more. We are also working on a project in the hospitality sector, as we have received requests from Five-Star Luxury hotels for interventions in the field of art design.”
